Cancer Support Worker

About the role

This role provides practical, day-to-day support to individuals navigating the cancer journey, including advocacy, appointment coordination, transport, and liaison with medical staff. It facilitates access to screening, treatment, medicines, and essential supports, and delivers culturally appropriate education, strengthens service pathways, improves communication, and contributes to quality improvement and reporting activities.

About the role

This role delivers culturally appropriate nursing care to improve client health outcomes. The Registered or Enrolled Nurse provides acute and chronic disease management, health screening, preventative care, immunisations, and education, working collaboratively with medical practitioners and Aboriginal Health Workers to ensure safe practice, continuity of care, and quality improvement.
