
Winda-Mara Housing Limited (WMHL) is a registered community housing provider established to address the growing need for secure, culturally safe housing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across southwest Victoria.
Our aim is to grow a strong housing portfolio and create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access safe, stable, and affordable housing connected to Community.

From July 2025, we’ll begin offering rent-subsidised homes in Warrnambool, with more housing becoming available in Portland, Heywood, and Hamilton.
Who is Eligible for WMHL housing?
To be considered for a home through WMHL, you must:

Be an Australian Citizen

Live in Victoria

Provide proof of identity (100 points)

Not own any property that you could resolve your housing needs with

Meet income eligibility limits

Provide confirmation of Aboriginality for at least one permanent household member

Provide a reference from an ACCO or ACCHO
How to Apply
Most of our upcoming housing will be social housing and, therefore, will only be available for applicants on the Victorian Housing Register (VHR).
