NAIDOC Week 2026 Celebrations
Once again our mob had another deadly NAIDOC Week with activities for everyone including our Flag Raisings in Heywood and Hamilton, Elders Lunch, Lake Condah Mission Walk, Youth Formal, and Community Day. Thankyou to Nicole Cleary for once again capturing an amazing week for our mob. NAIDOC Week Calendar 2026
Once again we have so many deadly activities for our mob to celebrate NAIDOC Week here at Winda-Mara. Our annual Flag Raisings in Heywood and Hamilton on the Monday are welcome to be attended by the wider community and are a great opportunity to celebrate the start of the week with us. All other events are just for us. It's a chance for mob to get together and celebrate our culture, community and connection with this years Community Day on Friday looking to be our biggest yet
Celebrating Aunty Laura Bell
One of our dearest community members Aunty Laura Bell (nee Lovett) aka Mamas entered the Dreamtime on March 2 nd at 89 years young. She was the mother of nine children - Wayne (dec), Kelvin, Kayleen (dec), Denise, Diane, Michael, Darren (dec), Damein and Shane. Aunty Laura was one of nine children of Mary Murray Rose and Frederick Amos Lovett.
